Marshalling Tips
Our Time Trial morning is the first opportunity for some of our
swimmers to experience our amazingly organized marshalling area!
We will do this for each meet, so please sign up to help, and look these tips over these tips with your swimmer:
- Pay attention to the event being marshalled:
Parents/swimmers! it is your responsibility to get your swimmer to his/her event on time. - The starter must have quiet at the beginning of each event.
- Marshalled Hogs should be prepared: go to the bathroom BEFORE you come to marshalling
- If you use goggles, make sure you have them with you
- Be prepared to sit QUIETLY
- No food in marshalling
- No toys or rough play
This is quite often the most challenging part of a meet for our younger swimmers. Please talk with your children before bringing them to marshalling, so they understand that their best behavior is needed. It will seem like they have to sit there forever, but it is our marshalling that makes Forest Hills meets run as quickly and smoothly as possible. 8 & U, and 9 & 10 year olds are marshalled. 11 & 12 swimmers should check in with the marshalling moms before heading to the starting blocks. This is a great place to help out if you have a young child. Sign up on our Volunteer boards at practice this week if you'd like to learn the art of marshalling our team!
